COMING HOME TO THE FATHER’S LOVE / Luke 15:11-32
In our final week before launch we consider the themes of The Parable of The Prodigal Sons. Graciously, Jesus teaches the two ways to be far from the Father and urges us to come home to the Father's love.
The moment is now here: Redeemer is fully and finally launching as a new church community on Saturday 25 September. We extend our greatest THANK YOU to everyone who has prayed for us and supported us over these last few years.
SAVED, STRENGTHENED, SENT / Ezekiel 36-37
God is creating a people to reveal His glory to and to reveal His glory through. Ezekiel 36-37 give us a glimpse of His plan to reveal the glory to the world. He does it all by saving, strengthening, and sending His church into the world.
This is the second of three bible talks in preparation for Redeemer's launch on Saturday 25 September. We'd love to have you in the room with us.
GOD’S PLAN FOR GOD’S PEOPLE / Genesis 12
God has always been in the process of creating a people to show His glory to and then to show His glory through that people to a world in need.
This message is the first of three bible talks as we prepare to finally and fully 'launch' Redeemer on Saturday 25 September.
REMEMBER / Psalm 77
Psalm 77 gives us a picture of the normal Christian life: doubt-drenched lows, faith-filled highs, and the need to remember God in the middle of it all. This is the fifth and final 'word for Redeemer' that we considered this Summer. We're back in-person next week at 4 PM!
REST / Psalm 62
We all need soul rest and thankfully it is available to us. This weeks Bible Talk explores what soul rest is and how we can have it. Jesus is the rest we long to have.
HOPE / Psalm 42
We are hardwired to hope. We hope our teams will win. We hope the virus will go away. We hope that we will have a good holiday. Why do we hope? And what can satisfy our hearts and anchor us when our other hopes don't come through? Join in as David brings an encouraging word in this bible talk.
HAPPY / Psalm 32
Happiness is elusive and yet we keep chasing it. There is hope for our happiness. Resting our souls in God is the only way to be really happy. 'Happy is the one whose transgressions are forgiven.' Let's be happy today!
TRUST / Psalm 23
Psalm 23 is full of comfort for our worried souls. We begin this summer season by thinking about the many reasons to trust in Jesus - the good shepherd, who promises to lay down His life for His sheep.
HEARING GOD’S VOICE / 1 Samuel 3
God doesn't simply exist - He speaks. 1 Samuel 3 is one of the most important chapters of the Bible for the Redeemer community. In this Bible talk we consider what it means to be a follower of Jesus - someone who is constantly growing in her or his ability to hear, trust, and obey God's voice.
YOU BECOME WHAT YOU BEHOLD / 2 Corinthians 3:17-18
We conclude this season of studying "Renewal" by thinking about how to change deeply. For our ruin or our restoration - we resemble what we revere. We become what we behold.
RECIPE FOR REVIVAL / Acts 19:10-41
Acts 19 describes the major factors involved in a major movement of God. Acts 19 is also a picture of our own hearts - what it looks like for the gospel to make its way in and challenge our core idolatry. At the heart of it all is the worship of Jesus who gives new affections to people.
A COMMUNITY OF RENEWAL / Philippians 2:1-11
Redeemer aspires to be a community of humility. A place where we don't think more of ourselves, or less of ourselves, but where we just think of ourselves - less. That's what we're into this week. This Bible talk explores the problem with our hearts, the picture of a beautiful community, and the person who can make us whole.
BECOME WHO YOU ARE / Ephesians 4:17-5:2
The Christian life is about growing in the experience of who you already are in Jesus Christ. Real life change comes from going deeper and deeper into the gospel. In this Bible talk Daniel takes us deep into the themes of what it looks like to live a new life.
THE POWER TO CHANGE / 2 Corinthians 5:21
Genuine change is never found in going beyond the gospel but only deeper into the gospel. We're talking about the power and the path to change in this Bible talk. It's all about the gospel.
IDOLS OF THE HEART / Romans 1:18-25
The road to renewal begins by being honest about the problem. The problem is that we value other people and things more than God. We're all guilt of the perilous exchange - worshiping the creation instead of the Creator. Thankfully, God has set Himself to enact the glorious exchange - to give Himself for us in the midst of our sin. This one goes deep into the heart. Let's listen in.
CAN’T LIVE WITH GOD - CAN’T LIVE WITHOUT GOD / Exodus 33-34
The Exodus story concludes with a daring proposition: God's people could have all the benefits of a relationship with God except they wouldn't have the presence of God. Which did the mediator choose for them? Which would you choose as well?
THE TRUE STORY OF THE WHOLE WORLD / Exodus 32
Exodus 32 contains the true story of the whole world. It's the story of the good and compassionate God, rebellious people, the role of a mediator, and being saved by the mercy of God. Listen and be encouraged.
THE PRESENCE OF GOD /
Exodus 25:1-22
We were created to live in the presence of God. The entire Bible is the story of God's desire to live with His people. The big theme of the Bible is that His presence would fill every place. Those are the themes in this bible talk. Check it.
THE KING’S WAY /
Exodus 20:1-21
The 10 Commandments are one of the most important and misunderstood parts of the Bible. They teach that God is the true King bringing a better Kingdom.
TRANSFORMING APPETITES IN TESTING / Exodus 15:22-17:7
God allows his people to be tested refine them through temptation. Testing tends to take place in the wilderness - a place of discovery, insight, and preparation. In this Bible talk we consider how we've been tested over this last year and where we should go from here.
DEFINED BY DELIVERANCE / Exodus 14:11-31
What defines you? God defines his people by one word: DELIVERED. The crossing of the Red Sea is a beautiful picture of who God is and how he desires to relate to his people. Listen and be encouraged.
SAVED BY THE BLOOD OF THE LAMB / Exodus 12:1-13
Pharaoh asked the important question: 'Who is your God that I should obey Him?' God responded with the clearest answer possible by showing that He is the only God who saves His people by substituting his own life for theirs.
GOD HAS ALWAYS BEEN ENOUGH FOR THOSE WHO AREN’T / Exodus 3-6
You are not enough. Thankfully, God is more than enough. God called Moses to a task that would only be possible with God's help. The same is true for us today. Moses asked God the question 'Who are you?' to which Jesus most fully provides the answer in saying 'I AM...'. There's so much in this talk, let's listen in...
HE DRAWS US OUT TO DRAW US IN / Exodus 1-2
The story of Exodus is the story of God's people. God draws us out of slavery to other gods and into the freedom to worship Him. God is drawing a people out of darkness and into light. It's all about God's grace and God's plan. This is the first of seven in a new collection of talks in the book of Exodus.
FOR FAILING FOLLOWERS WHO ALWAYS NEED GRACE (Easter Sunday)
/ John 21:15-19
Jesus welcomes failing followers who always need God's grace. Failure and shame keep us from God and Jesus pursues his failing followers. God offers to take the mess of our lives and make it our message. It's only possible because Jesus rose from the dead. Jesus restores his failing followers.
FOR THOSE WHO ARE TIRED AND NEED REST (Holy Saturday) / Matthew 11:28-29
Holy Saturday is the day to stop and reflect. The day between the suffering of Jesus and the resurrection of Jesus is where we take a moment to consider: 'how's it really going with me?' Jesus welcomes all people and has a special place in his heart for the tired, and burdened who need rest. Listen, reflect, and lean your life onto Jesus.
FOR THOSE WHO LONG TO BE LOVED (GOOD FRIDAY) / John 3:16
Jesus welcomes all people and only Jesus can satisfy our deepest heart desire to be loved. In this Good Friday talk, Daniel shares about the love of God.
FOR THOSE WHO LONG FOR MORE /
John 4:1-26
Our souls thirst. Deep inside of every person is a longing for more. Jesus is the most full and complete person who ever lived and he offers to satisfy our thirsty souls.
FOR THE BURDENED / Mark 5:21-42
Burdens are a fact of life. Jesus can carry our burdens and make the load light. In this bible talk we learn about Jesus relieving the burdens of two different people from very different walks of life. Jesus welcomes all peoples. All are welcome.
FOR THE WORRIED AND THE ANXIOUS / Matthew 6:24-34
Jesus has a heart for the worried and the anxious. He gets down to the root of the issue with worry and exposes it for what it really is. If you are worried or anxious then have a listen to Jesus. Jesus welcomes the worried and the anxious.
ALL ARE WELCOME / Luke 15:1-7
Jesus does not only welcome sinners of all sorts and stripes - he actively pursues them! We’re opening a new collection of talks about the sort of people that Jesus welcomed and that are welcome at Redeemer.
THE END OF RELIGION / John 2:11-17
Jesus is the true temple of God. He walked into the temple building in Jerusalem to announce the end of religion. Jesus Christ is the place where God and humanity meet.
DEALING WITH DEATH / John 11
We're all going to die. Okay, keep reading...it's undeniable. So, how are we to deal with death? How did Jesus deal with death? There's plenty of good news for such a grim subject. This is a sign leading to life.
THE BLIND SEE / John 9
Without light there is no sight. Jesus is the light of the world and in John 9 Jesus provides physical and spiritual sight. Miraculously, Jesus healed a man born blind and then Jesus taught in very practical terms what it means for us today. He really is the light of the world who can give sight to all who believe.
WHOLE HEALING / John 5:1-15
Jesus seeks, questions, and exhorts. Those are some of the big ideas in today's bible talk. Jesus offers 'whole healing' for our bodies and our souls. Jesus is seeking us today - even when we look right past him.
WHEN YOU’RE OUT OF WINE / John 2:1-11
Jesus turned water into wine - that fact is the first of seven signs that John provides us with. At the heart of this miracle is substitution. Jesus would one day substitute the water of his body to be the wine of our salvation. There's a lot packed into these 11 verses. Let's consider this first of the seven SIGNS TO LIFE.
THE SIGNS TO LIFE / John 20:30-31
2020 had a way of testing us and finding us out. For anyone looking for some fresh perspective to begin the new year: look no further.
Jesus is the saviour of the world and he wants to share his life with us.
This new collection of talks explores the different signs that Jesus did to demonstrate what kind of life he offers. Here's an introduction to this new teaching series that we're calling: THE SIGNS TO LIFE.
THE LIFE OF FAITH / Hebrews 11:7-12; Luke 17:5-10
We don't have to wonder or guess what a life of faith looks like. The Bible very graciously provides us with examples of people who have trusted God. We can examine their lives and learn how faith works and what it means to trust God.
THE NATURE OF FAITH / Hebrews 11:1-3
What is biblical faith and what does it mean to live a life of faith? That's the focus of the next two Bible talks here in the Redeemer community.
